In their ongoing focus on property and drug crime, local police uncovered a haul of cannabis at a property on the Brungle Road on Saturday.

A police raid of the property allegedly uncovered a large cannabis crop, as well as over 500 grams of cannabis oil, a drug utensil and an amount of unsecured ammunition.

A 58-year-old Gundagai man will front Gundagai Local Court on May 13 to face charges of cultivating a prohibited plant, possession of prohibited drug, possession of drug utensil, and not keeping ammunition safe.

Police had earlier located around 10 kilos of cannabis at another property on the Brungle Road.

Inspector Steve Radford has urged members of the community to continue coming forward with information.

“We need the community to keep the information coming, the more detail the better,” he said.

“As you can see by the increasing number of search warrants of late, the information is having a definite effect and we are acting on it.

“Keeping pressure on these property and drug offenders means one thing – we are creating a safer community in which to live and raise our kids.”

Inspector Radford thanked police and emergency service personnel that worked away from their families over the Easter break in order to keep the community safe.
