GAJRL off to Riverina Schoolboy’s carnival

Gundagai Adelong Junior Rugby League club wlll be in action in Junee on Saturday and Sunday.

The 77th Riverina Schoolboy’s rugby league carnival will kick-off in Junee this Saturday, with the always-popular event attracting 130 teams that will contest competitions from under 6s though to under 15s.

Teams are travelling from far and wide in 2022, with Group 9, Group 20, Group 10 and Canberra clubs in attendance. 

With the tackle carnival to be played on Saturday, on the Sunday the Junee Diesels Junior Rugby League club will host the league tag carnival, with 50 teams in action and kids playing from under 8s, through to under 16s. 

Gundagai Adelong Junior Rugby League (GAJRL) teams will be in action both days, and the club is sending their under 6s, 7s, 8s, 9s, 11s and 12s on Saturday and under 8s, 12s, 14s, and 16s on Sunday. 

Regarding the draw, there was nothing available at the time of going to print, and the standard practice is for the carnival organisers to release the first game time for each team on late Thursday or Friday, preceding the carnival. 

The remainder of the game times, with each team playing three games in total, will be given on arrival at the ground, via a program handed out at the gate

In more GAJRL news, the club drew their season raffle on Saturday and Harry Fifield won two corporate box tickets to Raiders v Manly NRL match. 

Steph Manton won the five night’s accommodation at Merimbula and Ian Casnave and Lizzie Britt won the signed NSW State of Origin Jersey.

With only two regular season rounds to go, end of season presentations are coming up and key dates are below. 

Friday August 19 – 4.30pm in Gundagai at the Soccer Canteen

Under 6s to 9s tackle teams. 

Under 8s to 10s LT teams.

Saturday September 19 – TBA at Adelong Showgrounds

Under 10s to 15s tackle teams.

Under 12s to 16s LT teams.
