Get in fast: Snake Gully tickets sell like hotcakes

The Snake Gully Cup, one of the biggest days on the sporting calendar, will be held on November 12.

Anyone intending to head along to this year’s Snake Gully Cup is being urged to get online and secure their tickets, with Gundagai-Adelong Racing Club president Michael Crowe saying sales have been “going ballistic” since going online yesterday morning.

Tickets in the reserved “premium” seating had all but sold out in a matter of hours, while general admission sales were also steaming along.

With overall numbers limited to about 1400, and no tickets available at the gate, Mr Crowe said people shouldn’t hold off if they plan to attend.

“I’d encourage people to either go to the Gundagai-Adelong Racing Club Facebook page or the Snake Gully Cup website and click through the links to get a ticket,” Mr Crowe said.

“They’re not going to last long.”

Only members, and a guest, don’t have to buy a ticket – but they’ll need to register at the gate.

Held over November 12 and 13, The Snake Gully Cup carnival is one of Gundagai’s biggest economic drivers.

This year, prizemoney will be more than half a million dollars across the two days.

The Snake Gully Cup race is worth $100,000 on its own, testament, Mr Crowe said, to all the people involved in the racing club.

“We’re proud to host the race, and those people who do so much work in the club should be proud as well,” Mr Crowe said.

“We’re also really pleased we can provide some enjoyment for our community at an event like this, which we’ve all been missing during this pandemic.”
